TIME TO CHECK IN ON WASHINGTON COUNTY SINGLE FAMILY SALES

I admit it -- things got busy...buyers started buying and sellers wanted to sell. And I fell behind on my monthly market report. But better late than never. So here's a look at how things are going with single-family home sales in Washington county.

The number of single-family homes that sold in August dipped over July, but is up quite a bit over this time last year. The decrease from July could be due to families focusing more on getting ready for school or getting in that last-minute vacation. Hopefully things will turn around this in September.

Unlike units, the average sale price for single-family homes is up. And not only is it up from July, but it's higher than it's been in August 2010, 2011 and 2012.

And check out the average days on market -- WOW! Not only does it continue to go down from last month but what a difference a year makes. Houses are moving -- the market continues to improve. Is it time for you to buy or sell??

How's inventory?  Just curious is perhaps there are less homes on the market for people to buy with the great summer it looks like you have had in that area compared to the past few years.  And steady price increases too... Looks really like a solid market.

Hi, Tammy! -- Inventory is definitely down -- especially in the "first-time buyer" price point. Those homes (up to mid-200s) are moving very well!
