Gimme a Break -- Just for Today

Harrington Beach

I need a break -- a break from the emails, the phone calls, the market reports, the showing feedback, the questions, the anxiety, the fear, the meetings...

Not a long break. Just for today.

I don't know how some people do it. They just keep going and going and going. Not me. My brain is mush. My focus is gone.

Time to relax and take a breath. Time to enjoy the sunshine and very mild temperatures we have on this late fall day. Time to have a day of nothing. No plans. No goals. Just enjoying the time.

I'll be back tomorrow, ready to get back at it. Ready to face the emails, the phone calls, the market reports, the showing feedback, the questions, the anxiety, the fear, the meetings...

But right now, it's time to get back to nothing. Ahhhhhh....

Peggy as we know this business is a grind so it is nice to take a rest once in a while.

I am with you. We as human need to rest and relax in order to perform better. Even during my buisness hours I just take 15 minutes break time to time,

Jim -- I should probably take a break more often. Just tough these days with all the "crises" we run into each day.

Payam -- It does help us to perform better! And I need to remember that and give myself a break more often.

Thank you both for your comments!!

I did that on Saturday (most of a day off) and it was wonderful.  I came back refreshed and ready to deal with the grind.

I don't think anyone should feel guilty when the need for a break during the day, or need to take a day off, arises and they take it.  If/when you return clear headed and refreshed this benefits not only yourself but your clients and customers.  Back at them and best wishes for positive results.

Sue -- I know you're right. I just have to get better at allowing myself a day off now and then. Today's break was a HUGE help!

Karen -- I thoroughly enjoyed my time off. Fantastic. :)
