Seems like there's been an awful lot of heavy sighs the past few days with the cooler temps and strong winds that have found their way to southeastern Wisconsin.
Yes, it is officially Autumn, and while that means the lazy hazy days of Summer 2009 are behind us, it also means the colorful paintings of fall are all around us.

So in the busyness of everyday life, be sure to take some time to slooooow down and look around you. From your back yard, to neighborhood parks, to Holy Hill, soak in and marvel at the reds, oranges, and yellows that cover our trees. This beauty only hangs around (literally) for a few short weeks. Don't let another autumn pass you by without taking notice.

Enjoy..........

I'm not completely ready to let Summer go, but I think it's beyond my control LOL. Gorgeous photos and you're right, somehow the color makes one want to stop and just be in the moment.
Peggy, the pictures are beautiful. Hopefully the Ozarks will see some color this year too! I'm looking forward to the beauty.
Hi Peggy, the colors are fantastic this year. We just return from a long weekend in the Mountains...well, now that's subjective, as I live in the mountains already, but, more accurately I should say, we went even higher in the mountains this weekend. LOL Anyway, the colors on the Aspen trees are magnificent! They are golden with a few of them sporting orange tips. They look like flames among the Lodgepole pines. Very dramatic. Would show you some photos, but I forgot my camera! Dang...what a missed opportunity.
Colleen -- Yeah, it's tough letting go of summer, but then I look out the window and ahhhh... :) (I can't take credit for the photos, though.)
Lanora -- I LOVE the Ozarks. Beautiful part of the country. (Again, I can't take credit for the photos.)
Marianne -- Well, I think you need to take another long weekend in the mountains and bring your camera! Sounds beautiful!!
Peggy, Wisconsin like New England is glorious with the fall colors. Thanks for sharing some of them with us. And we do need to slow down and take note of them.
Sounds like a plan, Peggy.
Great post-this is my favorite season...love the colors and the smells..time to fall in love with our homes and and families...fall in love with color. Time for being grateful and thankful.
Cathy - I love your comment. So simply put and so true. Thank you for stopping by.
